Keeping in tune with the forthcoming death anniversary of former chief minister K Kamaraj in October, Nandini Voice for the Deprived, a Chennai-based NGO is organising an essay writing competition for college students in the State on the subject ‘Governance by Kamaraj and After’.
Kamaraj served as the chief minister with great distinction and initiated several innovative measures to improve the socio economic conditions of the State and for upliftment of downtrodden people.
The objective of conducting this essay competition is to encourage college students in Tamil Nadu to study the policies and philosophy of Kamaraj, as well as his achievements and contribution to the state and find a way to assess how the state has progressed in the post Kamaraj era.
All college students in Tamil Nadu studying under graduate and post graduate courses can participate in the competition. The essay should be a maximum of 1,500 words and can be written in English or Tamil. Five entries will be selected for the award. The last date for submitting the essay is August 30.
