Seeking Submissions of Japanese/ Asian Er0tica: Iro Books

Iro Books is the e-book-only imprint of Stone Bridge Press, Inc., a leading publisher of books about Asia, especially Japan and China. "Iro" is the Japanese word for "color," and we chose iro to identify our publishing line because it signifies our Japan connection and is used in many Japanese terms related to physical passion and sensuality (what you might call Japanese "iro-tica").

We invite submissions for novels ranging from 25,000 to 80,000 words, with Japan- and Asia-related locales and protagonists. We are looking for works of literary quality that are er0tic, intelligent, and stimulating, with real places and real people.

WE ARE INTERESTED IN:

• All manner of lovemaking and gender combinations
• Stories that have a dramatic arc
• Non-clichéd kinky exoticism
• Precise descriptions of places, details, people, food, and design
• Descriptions that evoke landscapes, and dialogue that sounds like real people

• Your real name and pen name (if you are using one)
• A short summary of the book
• An approximate word count
• Your intended audience
• What you are willing to do to help publicize and market your book
• People you know who can recommend or blurb your book
• Your website or blog (if you have one)
• A list of previous publications, both print and online
• Any experiences you have with Asia and other foreign countries

Please allow four to six weeks for a reply. We pay authors royalties based on net receipts.
